Shadow Creek Book

When Shadow Creek first opened, John and Jeannine photographed the Tom Fazio designed course for the first edition of the Shadow Creek book. Now over 20 years later, a new version of the book has been released. Working on the first book was a highlight of their career and John and Jeannine were honored to once again be invited to photograph this spectacular course. Produced by MGM Resorts International, this elegant, 115 page coffee table book is a photographic study of the course built in the desert of North Las Vegas, Nevada. The book consists of 90 photographs and quotes from celebrities and sports figures who have frequently played rounds on the course.

Cape Wickham Golf Course, King Island, Tasmania, Australia

Scheduled to open in October 2015, Cape Wickham Golf Course on Tasmania’s King Island is a golf course photographer’s dream – there is a view of the ocean from almost every hole. Along the Bass Strait, the course is adjacent to the Cape Wickham lighthouse. With help from Australian golf writer, Dairus Oliver, the Mike DeVries designed course is routed through the natural dunes along the rugged coast line. Congratulations to this team for creating a unique course in this incredibly scenic location.

Ocean Dunes Hole #4

Ocean Dunes Hole #4

Ocean Dunes was Jeannine’s first stop in Australia after a twenty-four hour non-stop journey from California. Graeme Grant, co-owner and architect, met her at the King Island airport and led her to the nearby course. A dirt track that looks like an old farming road off the main road leads up to a hilltop of the future location of the clubhouse overlooking the coastline. The view was breathtaking and sent shivers up her spine. She jumped into Graeme’s truck for a tour of the completed front nine and then the back nine that are still under construction. Given the setting, the natural dunes, and rocky coastline, Graeme’s enthusiasm and passion for the project are well warranted. Once completed, this new course is bound to draw dedicated golfers from around the world to this small Tasmanian island along the Bass Strait off the southwestern coast of Australia.

Morning Mist on Nicklaus North #12, Whistler B. C.

In the morning, a beguiling mist forms above the water that surrounds the island green on the challenging and picturesque par 3 hole #12 at Canada’s world renown Nicklaus North in Whistler, B.C. Canada. To capture this enchanting scene, time is of the essence.  Here you can see John positioning the lift truck while the grounds crew busily preps the golf hole before the break of dawn light over the ridge. When the sun rose above the ridge it lite up the mist, streamed across the green, and created shadows across the mountains for an unforgettable scene.
